About the event
Fluoride Essentials: Evidence and Practice
Margherita Fontana, DDS, PhD | 2 CE
With fluoride increasingly questioned by both patients and professionals, this timely course takes a clear, evidence-based look at its role in contemporary caries prevention and management. Dr. Fontana will examine how commonly used fluoride modalities work, what the evidence tells us about their effectiveness and safety, and practical approaches to age-appropriate use and fluorosis prevention.
Attendees will also explore alternatives and adjuncts to fluoride, including where they may fit when fluoride is declined or is not sufficient alone. Just as importantly, the course will provide practical communication strategies for having respectful, informed conversations about fluoride hesitancy with patients, caregivers, and colleagues.
Participants will leave better prepared to evaluate fluoride recommendations based on individual caries risk, discuss available preventive options, and confidently communicate the evidence behind their clinical recommendations.
